Have Your Pancake and Count It Too!
A few weeks ago my six-year-old sister had "Hundred's Day" at school. For those who are unfamiliar, this celebration marks the 100th day of the school year. Students are supposed to bring in one-hundred of something (cheerios, goldfish, stickers, crayons, etc.) At first my sister and I were pretty stumped, but after checking out some ideas on Pinterest, we were able to develop one of our own. If you're in the market for an ah-dor-able Hundred's Day project, you've come to the right place.Have Your Pancake and Count it Too!
You'll need:
-5 pieces colored construction paper (yellow, purple(2 pieces), orange, white)
-colored pencils
-brown paint
-a large piece of white poster board
-a hole punch
-1 piece blue card-stock
-Elmer's glue
-a ruler
-a paper plate
-scissors
How To Make It:
1)Punch 100 holes out of the blue card-stock with the hole punch. Set them aside
2) Using the ruler, lightly sketch lines across the poster board so that it resembles a checkered tablecloth.
3) Color the lines in with red colored pencil.
4) Cut the rim off of the paper plate.
5) Paint the plate brown. Let it dry completely.
6) Trim the corners of the two pieces of purple paper so they appear rounded. Glue the two together.
7) Glue the purple construction paper onto the center of the board with Elmer's. Glue the brown paper plate onto the board using Elmer's. Glue the 100 card-stock polka dots onto the paper plate.
8)If you want you can embellish the board by cutting a napkin, glass of orange juice, stick of butter, (etc.) out of construction paper and gluing them to the board as well.
9) Add a title and you'll be able to have your pancake and count it too!
